TextAnywhere provides a range of free-to-use online applications
for organisations wishing to use Short Code mobile numbers (for
example, 82029). These Short Code numbers can be used either as
a convenient way to enable people to contact you, or as a means
to charge mobile phone users for receiving text messages from you – this
is known as Reverse Billing.
With a Short Code service, you don’t have to charge someone a premium for
interacting with your Short Code – it’s your choice as the service
provider.
You may just want to offer your clients an easy way of contacting you by
SMS, by texting a Keyword to a Short Code. For example:
- “Text CAR to
81025 for more details
on our new car offers”
- “For more information
text INFO to 84025”
- “Please contact
the Council by texting
CAMBS to 81025”
- “To vote, text
STAR followed by the act
number to 80039”
Please do try these examples – you’ll just be
charged your standard rate for
sending a text message.
Alternatively, perhaps you would
like to charge a mobile phone user for entering your competition,
sending in a vote, or for receiving premium content (perhaps football
results, astrology information or news).
With Reverse Billing, the cost
of the service is charged to the mobile phone user, with a proportion
of the charge being received back by you as the content provider,
as an Out-payment.
For each keyword service we charge a setup and a monthly fee:
-
Setup
charge - £29
-
Monthly fee - £39
